Randolph County Drought

The local drought issue seems to be the "talk of the town", some local farmers mentioned that the last drought was over 50 years ago. This is a widespread problem that is putting farmers as well as livestock in a terrible position.
The crop producers face serious economic loses from reduced or non-existent crops, the lack of corn, soybean and hay crops could make the fallout for milk, beef, pork, chicken, and egg producers.
The farmers will be the ones bearing the brunt of the financial losses, but the loss of animal industry will be enormous over the next year. This will ensure higher feed prices, which will inhibit the livestock to produce properly, this could cause livestock producers to liquidate immediately.
Farmers will loose many crops because there just isn't enough rain and they pump water as much as possible from their wells but that too can run out if not managed properly. The local farmers markets have very little vegetables and fruits to sell as well as the local nursery owners who exclaim the water runs none stop from dusk to dawn. This makes it hard to make any profit when your water bill is so high and then the owners have to increase the prices just to survive. When there is a crises such as the drought it doesn't only affect the business owners but this issue bleeds over into our everyday life as well.
